What is data?
Data is the information sent from the hardware to the cloud. With Trendlog, this is typically either a value or timestamp. The data must be visualized before you can see anything out of it.
What are the benefits of collecting data?
When you are digitalizing information, it can be put into system that allows you to respond more quickly to changes while at the same time being able to communicate with other systems.
It is thus an opportunity to automate several processes, for example documentation, reporting, planning and more.
What can production data be used for?
Production data is information collected at machine level as well as an overall level and with the information you can get an overview of the general production results.
This means that you can dive into operations and find bottlenecks on the individual conveyor belts while at the same time being able to maintain an overview of the total capacity and ensure the efficiency of the production.
There are various applications for production data which includes detection of stop causes, automatic reporting and crash prevention.
How can data collection optimize the production?
By digitalizing information with data collection, you get the opportunity to create an overall and a more accessible overview, which will keep you updated on the current performance and challenges that occur. This means that the time of reaction will be much shorter, problems will be solved faster, and you will be able to analyze upon the bottlenecks and prevent expensive breakdowns.
In addition, OEE is a parameter, which is a simple indicator for how well the machinery is performing and if there is any need for improvement.
What are the benefits of a maintenance planning?
Planning of maintenance and service helps your company to predict reparations and expensive breakdowns.
A good system for maintenance planning (CMMS) replaces the complex spreadsheet and paper notes, so you can keep track of the timing of service tasks, get the documentation in order and helps your operators to plan their time.
What is OEE?
OEE is short for Overall Equipment Efficiency, which measures the equipment’s efficiency. Thus, it tells you how efficient your operations are based on how much of your capacity that is being utilized and how.
Why is OEE important?
OEE is a smart tool for measuring the efficiency of the company. OEE can be used in efforts to optimize and increase the maximum use and hereby the efficiency.
What is Industry 4.0?
Industry 4.0 is part of a series of industrial revolutions the last centuries. Thus, it is a paradigm shift in the industrial production, which consists of the machines now are capable to communicate with each other while also learning and developing along with the employees. It gives enormous advantages for growth and can help create more sustainable forms of production, but it requires companies to become better at using data.
What are feeds?
Feeds represent the individual points in your production from which we collect data. A feed can for example be a sensor or an instrument for measuring temperature. Feeds deliver the raw values (data) to the Cloud platform, so that they can be put into a system and visualized in a way that creates an easier overview.
What are views?
Views is the way to visualize your data – whether it’s a graph, speedometer or just a number. It is a flexible way of presenting data.
What is a channel?
A channel is where all data from a specific production is being stored. Here, all data from the production that matches the API-key will be stored. Typically, a company has multiple channels due to multiple places of origin and separate data.
What is an API-key?
An API-key is an identification key, which makes sure that the hardware can forward data to your profile in Cloud.
What is a Trendlog Trendboard?
The Trendboard is an overall visualization of all your data.
What is a group?
You can gather machines in different groups in the Maintenance Planner. For example, cars, tractors, production, packing room etcetera. This is used in your maintenance planner to filter your machines so that it only shows service for one particular type.
What is preventive service?
The Maintenance Planner can be set so that the time of service will be based upon a specific date or interval. The Maintenance Planner will then notify you of service, for example, every three months.
What is a service flag?
It is a tag in Maintenance Planner, which shows that your machine needs to be serviced. The tag can be removed or added.
Which types of data can be collected?
Data means digitalized information and it is possible to collect almost infinite types of data. The data we work with can for example be a time stamp, a number or a value, and it is therefore often information about the machine’s efficiency or condition, the temperature of a cold store room or the power consumption of the plant. It is therefore not about what kind of data that you can collect, but rather which kind of data that will make sense to work with in your situation.
From which machines can data be collected?
As a starting point, performance data can be collected from all machines either by retrofitting sensors at convoy belts or similar or by integrating them in new machines.
In addition, we are offering a number of other possibilities for collecting data should it be more usable. An example is collection of other values than performance data as establishing contact to the steering of the machines (PLC) or collection of signals with I/O-modules.
What is Trendlog Collect?
Trendlog Collect is a series of easy ways to collect production and energy data. It is a standardized hardware, which can be coupled directly onto existing facilities and meters, and it can collect information across machines, robots, and sensors. The series contains among others the possibilities of collecting machine data, temperatures, energy data and lots of other things.
How do you install the Trendlog Collect-series?
The Collect-series consists of standardized solutions, which, depending on your conditions, can be mounted and installed in different ways. For example, wireless, but it can also require wiring of different types.
How does data from Trendlog Collect get transfered to Trendlog Cloud?
The communication of data is built around encrypted API-keys, which dictate where the collected data is being sent to. A software is programmed into the hardware, which creates a connection to our Cloud and makes sure no data get lost in the process.
Which types of sensors can be coupled with the Trendlog Collect-series?
In relation to machine data, the Trendlog Collect-series can be coupled with all common industrial sensors. In relation to reading temperatures and energy data, there are several solutions, both wireless and wired industrial sensors.
How many sensors can be connected?
This depends on the application and we have multiple package sizes and subscriptions, which determine how many sensors can be connected.
If it is sensors for measuring temperatures and energy data, you can, for example, connect up to 20 sensors in the standard package. If the sensors are for collecting machine data, you can, for example, connect sensors for up to four machines in the standard package.
For both applications, however, there is no upper limit on the number of connected sensors as long as it is included in the subscription.
How often are data being logged?
This depends on your need. Typically, it varies from 30 seconds and up to either per hour or day. At the same time, it is the possible to watch data in realtime if you need to keep an eye on the current value.
How long does it take to install the Trendlog Collect-series on your machines?
Data collection of machine data can take place with several different solutions, but it often takes no longer than 30-60 minutes to install the Trendlog UNO or the Plug&Log box from the Collect-series.
Which kind of hardware is necessary to access the Trendlog Trendboard?
For data collection, there are several options, including our standardized Trendlog Collect series, which includes the Plug&Log-box and Trendlog UNO.
What is Trendlog Maintenance Planner?
Maintenance Planner is a CMMS system which you can use to manage maintenance and service. The system replaces paper reports and the spreadsheet with automatic scheduling and digital checklists which is sent directly to the operator. That way you’ll get the documentation in place and catch repairs and expensive breakdowns in advance.
Who can create repair tasks in the Maintenance Planner?
Basically, anyone in the organization with access to the Maintenance Planner can create a repair task, but it can be especially useful for the personnel who operates the machines in question because they often will be the first ones to spot a problem.
How do you know if a machine needs to be repaired?
When looking at the overview in the Maintenance Planner, the name of the machine will be flanked by a red flag, which marks whether a repair is needed.
How do you mark a machine with a service flag in the Maintenance Planner?
As a starting point, the Maintenance Planner does it automatically, when it is time to send off an operator with the digital checklist.
However, it is possible to manually create a service task on a machine by clicking on the right side of the overview and clicking on “toggle service”. Afterwards, the green service flag will appear next to the machine, and you can then review the digital checklist.
How many machines can you have in the Maintenance Planner?
This depends on your subscription. The size of your package contains 300 service units in the overview today, but it can be adjusted according to needs.
How big or large companies can make use of Maintenance Planner?
Based on a standard solution, we adapt it to your needs by bringing the person in focus. Therefore, there is no lower or upper limit on how small or large companies must be in order to start working with their data.
With Trendlog, you can start small, build experience by using more digital tools in your everyday life and then slowly building up according to your needs.
What is Trendlog Cloud?
Trendlog Cloud is an online platform, we have developed ourselves and that helps you create an overall overview of your data and operations. You will get access to performance, OEE and consumption, so you among others can optimize your efficiency, solve challenges, and minimize the risks for breakdown. Trendlog Cloud is web based and only requires a browser to access.
On which devices can you access the Trendlog Cloud platform?
Since the Cloud platform is web-based it requires nothing more than a browser to access your data and overview.
Therefore, it is possible to access the Cloud platform from all devices, which, for example, will make the communication between departments in the company easier.
How small/large companies can use Trendlog for production dashboard, energy reading or temperature documentation?
Based on a standard solution, we adapt it to your needs by putting the person in focus. Therefore, there is no upper or lower limit for how small or large companies must be in order to start working with their data. With Trendlog, you can start small, build experience by using more digital tools in your everyday life and build on it according to your needs.

Is data stored securely?
There are many different measures in place to ensure both the collection and storage of data takes place in a secure manner, which reduces the risk of hacking and loss of data. Including an encryption of the communication between the physical hardware (Trendlog Collect) and the software (Trendlog Cloud).
How many users can you have in the Maintenance Planner and Trendboards?
You can basically create an unlimited number of users with access to both Maintenance Planner and Trendboards.
